Cancel an Event

Permissions needed: Highest Booking Capability which includes the event's status

Sometimes, an event is created to practice a workflow or by mistake. When this happens, you are able to mark the event as canceled. For more information about canceling versus marking an event as lost, please see Should I Mark an Event as Lost or Cancel it?.

You are not able to delete events; instead they must be marked as canceled or lost. This is for the integrity of the data in your account. It is also possible to restore a canceled event.

Canceling an Event from the Details Page

  1. Go to the event's details page.
  2. Click the more_vert more info menu in the upper-right corner.
  3. Click Cancel Event.
  4. Confirm that you want to cancel the event.
  5. Your event has been canceled.

Canceling an Event from the Calendar

  1. Click the event you want to cancel. On the grid or day calendars, you'll need to also click View summary.
  2. On the event's summary slider, click the more_vert more info menu in the upper-right corner.
  3. Click Cancel Event.
  4. Confirm that you want to cancel the event.
