Set Your Account Password Policy

System role needed: System Admin

As a System Admin, you are able to set the requirements for passwords on your account. By default VenueOps passwords only require eight characters, but you can set the minimum number of characters in a password (up to 50), as well as require any combination of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.

To set your password policy:

  1. Click your name in the upper-left corner and select System Admin.
  2. Go to the Security tab.
  3. Click the pencil to open the Edit Password Policy slider.
  4. Update the password requirements.
    Allowed special characters are = + - ^ $ * . [ ] { } ( ) ? " ! @ # % & / \ , > < ' : ; | _ ~ `
  5. If you prefer to hide the password policy on the reset password page, check Password Policy Hidden. The password policy will still show on pages that require authentication to access (the in-app Change Password slider, as well as the page where new users set their temporary password).
  6. Click Save.
